Alternative dispute resolution has made its way into U.S. schools elementary, middle and high-as a method to manage conflict. Peer mediation programs for students have had extraordinary success and continue to grow, while teaching the principles of conflict resolution has become required curriculum in some schools. It is the hope of the movement's leaders that alternative dispute resolution will enter into all levels of school operations and eventually fan out into the larger society.
