The following article explains the particulars of the AAA's latest rules and provides a number of guidelines for incorporating an arbitration clause in international contracts. The article was originally delivered as a speech by the author in Washington, D.C., last November at the Eighth ICSID/ICC/AAA Joint Colloquium on International Arbitration. The article will also appear in the Spring 1992 issue of The World Bank's ICSID Review.
