On January 2, 2009, Continental Casualty Company (“Continental”) filed with the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (the “Centre” or “ICSID”) an application in writing (“Continental’s Application”) requesting the partial annulment of the Award of September 5, 2008 (the “Award”), rendered by the tribunal (the “Tribunal”) in the arbitration proceeding between Continental and the Argentine Republic (“Argentina”).
