This paper discusses three broad topics. First, it looks at international arbitration as a whole and deals with two of its comparative advantages over international litigation – arbitration's flexibility and sophistication and the simple and effective procedure available to enforce international arbitral awards. Next, it considers a developing trend that many view as undesirable – the efforts to make arbitration more like litigation. Finally, it discusses, on the basis of the author's experience, a number of topics relating to the conduct of international arbitration.
