Professor George Bermann. He was Professor Bermann for many years before, carefully, oh so carefully, he has become George.  His knowledge and passion sparked my interest, a jaded second-year law student focused at the time on a different career and fed the fascination that followed. Many will write about his scholarship, his intellectual leadership, his force-of-nature mastery of the field.  I will cautiously share some different thoughts.
