A.1 Legislation
French legislation regarding international arbitration has not
been modified since the adoption of the Decree No. 2011-48 of
13 January 2011.
A.2 Trends and Tendencies
Much attention has been paid this year to a domestic arbitration
case involving the French Government and the businessman
Bernard Tapie, which highlighted the public’s misgivings about
the supposed lack of transparency in arbitration. However, this
had no impact on the overall enthusiastic attitude of foreign and
national businesses towards arbitration, which remains the most
common way for the French business community to settle
disputes arising out of international transactions.
